This wonderful and rare, 1930's DOUBLE-BILL B&W movie dvd release includes two,
classic Pre-Code dramas starring the beautiful and talented JUNE CLYDE.
June Clyde (December 2, 1909 in St. Joseph, Missouri – October 1, 1987 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) was an American actress, singer and dancer.
Clyde's career began at age seven on the vaudeville stage, billed as "Junior Tetrazini" at nine years old. She made her first screen appearance at age ten with Hobart Bosworth in The Sea Wolf. Later her voice changed and she joined a stock company. She progressed to a modest career in Hollywood films before marrying American film director Thornton Freeland. Clyde moved to England with her husband and appeared in several British films and stage productions starting in 1934, as well as returning to the United States periodically for both stage and film work. She was also of the Morman faith.
THRILL OF YOUTH (1932)
Director: Richard Thorpe
As an old man preaches against the sexual promiscuity of the early 1930s, the man's middle-aged son galavants around with a married woman -- while his sons regularly entertain good-time girls in their own bedrooms. In no position to pass judgement, dad not only condones his sons' behavior, but also slips them a few slugs of bootleg booze. Things come to a head when the libertine father, his paramour, his sons and their tootsies all converge at a mountain cabin. Naturally, everyone is duly punished for their sins, but they all seem to be having a high old time before the final reckoning.

A kindly old man is neglected by his selfish and greedy family. Papa Strauss, a widower, is being shifted around from one married-son's home to the other, and is unwelcome at all because his daughter-in-laws' object to his smelly pipe smoking. Finally the family tucks him 'out of sight and out of mind' into a nursing home, with very little 'honor thy father' thought given to it. However, unmarried daughter, Lena, who loves her father dearly, has a bright fiancée, who makes a lot of money off of a patent, and they make a home for him.
